Since the film focused on just Willis’ character David Dunn’s origins, and Split granted us a look at the development of another villain in McAvoy’s Horde, Glass is seemingly poised for a final showdown between Dunn and his archnemesis, Mr. Dunn’s Story Since UnbreakableShyamalan originally conceived Unbreakable as a three-part story with the structure of a typical superhero comic book: the hero’s origin and symbolic birth, the general/everyday fight against the bad guys, and the ultimate battle with the archvillain. Now, with a new reboot or sequel coming out every other month to various superhero/comic film franchises, it seems like the perfect time to bring Shyamalan’s holistic, intimate take on the genre back to the big screen.
